Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025 Awareness Program by Shaktishali Mahila Sangathan Samiti (SMSS)
Shivpuri, May 28, 2025 – On the occasion of Global Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025, Shaktishali Mahila Sangathan Samiti (SMSS) organized a powerful awareness program at the community space located at Barodi Road, Shivpuri. The event aimed to break the social silence surrounding menstrual hygiene and to inspire women and girls from rural and tribal communities towards hygiene and self-reliance.
The program began at 10:30 AM and witnessed the participation of a large number of adolescent girls, women, self-help group (SHG) members, and social workers. The program was presided over by Narmada Shakya, Nodal of the MHM Program, who, in her inaugural speech, stated:
“Menstruation is not a disease, but a natural biological process. What we need is not shame, but awareness and hygiene. Society will change only when we support our daughters instead of silencing them.”
